Giraffe Awards


          Essex CHIPS and Teen Center is accepting nominations for the annual Holland Memorial Award and Giraffe Awards.  Nominations are due June 5, 2009.  Awards will be presented during a celebration at Essex CHIPS the evening of June 17, 2009.  To make a nomination click here. Award recipients will be selected by committee and informed by CHIPS if they are selected.
 
         The Holland Memorial Award is given in honor of the late Doug Holland a resident of Essex Junction who made extraordinary efforts to help establish Essex Teen Center.  CHIPS and the Teen Center celebrate their 23rd birthday this year.  Nominees for the Holland award share Doug's ceaseless belief in the potential of our youth, are strong advocates for and with youth, and have made exemplary contributions to a critical youth service or initiative.  Nominees are adults or youth who reside in or work in Essex town, Essex Junction, or Westford.
 
         GIRAFFE awards will be presented to at least one youth and one adult who have "stuck their necks out" to advance the interests of youth in Essex town, Essex Junction or Westford.
