The 2008 Holland and Giraffe Awards

Each year CHIPS presents awards to honor outstanding youth leaders and community members who make differences in the lives of youth and improve our communities' health.   The Doug Holland Memorial Award was established with the family of Doug Holland, who worked sacrificially with area teens to establish Essex Teen Center.  It is given to an individual who embodies Doug's spirit and whose work has made significant gains for local teens.  The Giraffe awards are given in honor of youth who make significant volunteer contributions to improve our communities - "they stick their neck out" and are co-sponsored by Chief Leo Nadeau of Essex Police Department.

Awards will be presented during a dessert night that celebrates the year's accomplishments.
