How it Works
Donate fixable, gently used bikes by dropping them off at Maple Street Park and checking in with the office.
If there are bikes available and you need one, take one, and have it fixed up for free.
If you just need to have a bike fixed, that's what we're here for!
Need a helmet for you or someone in your family? We'll have helmets available for a suggested donation of $10.
Want to have a snack while you're here? Refreshments are on site!
Stick around for awhile and take in the wonder of the event! Learn how to fix a flat tire on your bicycle or take a 30 minute community bike ride with your family to learn the safe way to ride bikes in the community (hand signals, street position, etc.)
The Essex/Westford Community Bike Fix & Swap is an event hosted by Essex CHIPS and supported by the Essex Junction Bike/Walk Advisory Committee and Essex Junction Recreation and Parks. This event offers an opportunity for youth and their families to donate, swap, or fix their bikes before the ideal summer bike-riding weather hits.
Biking is not only a lot of fun, but great exercise, a convenient way for youth (and everyone) to get around, a cool sport, and an awesome family activity.
We offer free reasonable bike repairs, guided community bike safety rides, Essex bike patrol, an electric bicycle demonstration, a fix-a-flat workshop, face painting, and treats!
