Find a Safe Place with TXT 4 HELP Text the word "safe" and your current location (city/state/zip) to 44357 (4HELP).
You will receive a message with the closest Safe Place site. You will also have the option to text interactively with a professional for more help. It’s quick, easy, safe and confidential. Safe Places are sites a distressed youth can walk into and ask for assistance. Trained staff at the site, marked by the yellow and black 'Safe Place' sign, will make the youth comfortable and call the Safe Place office at Essex CHIPS. A staff member and/or volunteer will be dispatched to the site to meet with the youth and bring them back to the Safe Place office. They will then connect the youth with the immediate services they need, such as food, transportation, or early crisis intervention. During COVID-19, some of our local Safe Place sites may be closed. However, if you are a youth in a crisis situation, please text the word “SAFE” to 4HELP (44357) to be connected to immediate help and safety.
