About FriendCHIPS

FriendCHIPS Youth Mentoring is a community-based mentoring program that empowers 3rd-12th grade students in the Essex Westford School District to make healthy life choices that enable them to maximize their personal potential.

Adults volunteer to spend one hour per week with a student, participating in activities together such as games, arts & crafts, sports, cooking and conversation. Building a relationship with a child, simply one hour at a time, can greatly improve a child’s life and your own! Research has proven that a relationship with a caring adult can help young children make healthy choices, improve self-esteem, and increase resiliency.

It's important to have opportunities to share a connection with an important person in challenging times. FriendCHIPs is continuing to foster connection between mentors and mentees by providing virtual services.

Current Programming Options:

In our community-based mentoring program, matches can schedule their weekly one-hour meetings in a variety of ways. Matches can meet in-person after school or on the weekends in the community. Mentors can also transport their mentees to and from match meetings with prior approval. Matches can also and still may meet virtually.

Please contact us with any questions.
