The “Let’s Talk” series is a community wellness forum series dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles for all Essex residents. The first event will take place Saturday, March 28th at the Essex High School and address substance use in our community. A complimentary breakfast will be served at 8:30am. The forum will begin at 9am. Liza Ryan, a certified Recovery Coach and Champlain College student, will share her personal story of recovery from substance use disorder and be available to answer questions. Ron Hoague from the Essex Police Department and Colleen Nesto from Essex Rescue will share their experiences as first responders in our community and how the opioid epidemic has shaped their work. We’ll then have a discussion around how we, as a community, can support people in recovery and promote prevention to ensure folks thrive in a healthy environment. Together, we will problem solve and make recommendations to better Essex.
