About the Tween Center
The Essex Tween Center provides a safe space for elementary school students to engage with peers and positive adult role models. Trained CHIPS staff and volunteers are on-site to supervise and organize activities, crafts, provide homework help, and prepare healthy snacks.
There's lots of fun to be had in the Tween Center. Our space includes air hockey, a pool table, foosball, a basketball net, arts and crafts, piano and guitars, board games and puzzles, computers, and age-appropriate video games and movies.
We also host regular events in the Tween Center, such as game nights, paint nights, movie nights, and holiday parties. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we've also offered virtual programming for youth to participate in from home.
The Essex Tween Center is open to 4th-5th grade students in the Essex Westford School District, and is free to attend.
Current Programming Schedule:
Virtual Tween Center: Mondays 4-5pm
Virtual Teen and Tween Center: Wednesdays 4-5pm
Virtual Tween Center: Fridays 4-5pm
Take a look at our calendar below to see what we have planned!
Due to the recent increase in cases of COVID-19 in the state of Vermont, Teen Center is returning to virtual programming. Please check this page regularly for an updated programming schedule.
Every two weeks, CHIPS will send out a sign up form to all Tween Center families for the next two weeks of programming. Fill out the form to indicate which programs your child wants to participate in. We will put together a box with the required materials, to be picked up from CHIPS. If the pickup time is inconvenient for you, we can make other arrangements. All the activities will happen through zoom. To receive these bi-weekly sign-up forms, complete our permission form.
