Essex CHIPS and Teen Center

Teen Center

The Essex Teen Center provides fun activities, a healthy snack, and great opportunities for youth-adult and peer interaction, all in a safe, supervised space.  All activities are supervised by trained CHIPS staff and volunteers.  Organized activities and monthly themes are guided directly by youth input, and we are always looking for new, exciting ideas for things to do in our space!

Essex CHIPS is a member of the Vermont Coalition of Teen Centers and meets standards of this organization for Teen Center operation in Vermont.

Cost of Attendance and Permission Forms

General attendance is FREE! Students are required to fill out a new permission form each school year, and are required to bring a completed form back before their second visit of the year.

Students from Essex Middle School who are interested in attending the Essex Teen Center can take bus 16 to Essex Junction. The bus will drop students off at the corner of Grove and Central Streets, where they will be met by an Essex CHIPS Staff member who will walk with them back to the Teen Center. Bus permission forms are required, and can be picked up at the EMS front desk with Ms. Maiberger.

Hours of Operation

Tues, Weds & Thurs – 3:00pm to 5:30 pm.  Please note that the Teen Center follows the CCSU School Calendar, and will be closed on days that the school is closed (including snow days).
